Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Many of our clients ask how heavy of weights they should start with? Pick a weight, start with 12 reps, if it feels too easy, add more weight until the weight feels challenging to lift but not impossible. You must also keep in mind that the amount of weight you lift should not cause you to compromise your form or safety. Choose weights that feel right for you and as you get stronger, increase the weight!
